An examination helps your veterinarian make sure the medication is still appropriate and safe for your pet. Pets can change significantly over time, and some medications require monitoring of things such as weight, bloodwork, kidney or liver function, or the underlying condition being treated. Regular examinations help us catch changes early and avoid continuing a medication that may no longer be the best choice. Standards of care require us to see a patient once a year for physical exam and history in order to maintain a current prescription.
